Facets

Photomanipulation of original close-up of crystal, in Photoshop. What I like about abstraction is the ambiguity of it, so that I can interpret what my eye sees on many levels. Image c Lynda Lehmann. Available at http://www.lyndalehmann.com/

What do YOU see in it?

  1. I see highly polished and faceted gold as in the metal. It's so amazing how it takes on a completely different look than the original crystal. I also notice the pineapple pattern in the faceting that I probably wouldn't have seen if looking at the whole object. Great shot, Lynda! Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage

  2. I thought at first that was a dome of the church from inside, but then it looks just like my crystal vase, lol. very nice shot, anna :)

  3. What a beautiful abstract! It reminds me of the frost that creeps over the windows in the winter. Kathy

  4. Kathy, I've seen a pineapple or a cathedral in it, or a steel building superstructure. You would think I would have seen frost too, since frost on the windowpane always fascinates me! Thanks for stopping by!

  5. My daughter takes a lot of weird close up shots of different things, totally gives you different perspective on the item, very cool. I too thought it was a church dome. great pic!

  6. That's exactly why I love abstraction, because you can see the same image as so many different things or interpret it it in so many different ways! Therein lies the mystery... :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting, Bob!

  8. Hi Lynda,
Thanks for the visit, I too feel the same way about dragonflies, but as of yet i havn't hafd one land on my head. As to them living 24 hrs, that is not true , they tend to live for several weeks, which is not long but their only function is to mate.
Your pictures you have through Imagekind looks a good idea and looks well on your blog.
Hope you dont mind but i have added your link onto my blog as i like the work that you do.

    Cheers Mark

  9. Hi Mark,

I think I read it in my Audubon book. Is it possible that the species of dragonfly in the N.E. United States live less long than some other species? If I can find the source where it says they only live 24 hours, I'll let you know.

Anyway, thanks for visiting and for adding my link. I like your work as well, so I've added your link to my blog page.

    Happy photographing!
