A Still and Solitary Time

Autumn often brings stiff winds that churn the leaves and break their hold on lofty boughs, and foretell the coming of winter. But sometimes autumn brings a hush that settles over the land like a balm, defying the wind to ruffle the brilliant golden light. Sunshine penetrates lake and forest. The water lies smooth and flat, mists hover, the woods fall to silence as if the squirrels, birds, and deer stand in awe of the day's tranquility. All is serene. All is quiet on water, land and sky. Except for the Hum of Life, barely audible, yet powerfully present in the living domain.

  2. Hi Lynda,

what a beautiful picture and text again!!
Maybe you've read one of the comments on my 'inspiration' post, saying that:

The word 'inspiration' comes from the latin word for 'breathing'. Inspiration for me is within that metaphor breathing in the fresh air that you need to move forward.

That is exactly what your photo's bring to me.. a breath of fresh air!
    Thanks you for that!
    warm wishes,

    Ellen

  4. Ah yes... the "hum of life". One of my favorite sounds in the whole world. Something most people miss. Your photo is absolutely gorgeous and very inspiring. Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage

  9. Lynda -

Your gift with perception is undeniable. This image brought a peace and comfort to me this morning that I needed... and with the soft, tranquil music of your page in the background, it's easy to get lost in your landscapes, meditating on all that is, all that isn't, all that should be, and all that will be.

    Thanks for the escape.

P.S. - I'm adding your link to my "Worth the Read" section on my blog. I love what you do here.
