My daughter brought this to my attention today and I thought it was something you would all want to know about. This service is free, and a whole lot easier to use than finding the right telephone number of the right department in your state government, to opt out of unwanted mail.
According to their site, "Catalog Choice is a sponsored project of the Ecology Center. It is endorsed by the National Wildlife Federation and the Natural Resources Defense Council, and funded by the Overbrook Foundation, the Merck Family Fund, and the Kendeda Fund."

Sounds like all work for a good cause. I normally receive mails from the hotels I stay or airlines I fly offering me to apply for credit cards to earn more miles and I don't like those mails.
