"Untitled Gray" Entered for Saatchi Showdown Vote!

I've entered "Untitled Gray" in the SAATCHI SHOWDOWN round that runs this week, from May 19 - 26. Can you please take a minute to give my painting your vote? Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to vote in the past.

On most days, the site loads quite fast, and the voting takes just a second! Thanks again for your support! Wishing you all a productive week and sunny skies.

  5. oh I really love this Lynda...
I have such a weakness for monochromatic work....
the design and composition is brilliant...
I tried to get into the Saatchi site but as usual it just won't let my computer in grrrr!!!
and to think I'm a member there !!!
oh well maybe one day a miracle may happen.... ;)

  8. Oh Lynda,
I love it. It reminds me very much of one of my faves among the greats.

    I love Kandinsky!!

We just started rolling again and blogging is impossible while bouncing down this road.

I will come back late this evening and try to get a vote in.

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  9. I gave it the highest rating, and it's very deserving ... I like it a lot.

  10. Lana, thank you for voting! Glad to see you, as well!

Janice, I think it looks primitive and yet surreal in some way. I usually paint in bright colors but in this painting I worked with values instead. I may do a series of these, as it's good discipline for me.

island rambles, i'm glad to have found your blog, as well! and thanks for your vote!

  11. indrani, now it is YOU who are being kind! thank you for the WONDERFUL compliment! and for voting.... :)

Kim, I had an easier time than usual getting on there. Although sometimes the site is so busy that it's infuriating. I like the monochromatic too, because it has a purity that makes line and form stand out, much like B & W photography. Color is a joy, but it seems to take over a composition, much of the time!

  12. Evlahos, laughingwolf, and JJ, thank you very much for your support! So many people enter that it would be almost impossible to win--the odds are so against it--but it brings some additional exposure to our galleries there at Saatchi.

  13. Jackie, thank you for stopping over and for the reference to Kandinsky! He has always been one of my favorites, as well. He and Paul Klee are among many painters whose work I like, but I've loved Klee and Kandinsky since I was in college!

  15. Kia ora lynda,
I voted for your work. It has a very New Zealand appeal to my limited art sense, almost a Maori flow through it. Very cool. Kia ora!

  24. Robb - Thanks for voting for my painting. Abstracts evoke such different things for different people. That's why I enjoy doing them. Thanks for the visit!

Sandy - Thank YOU for voting, as well!

Jafabrit - I didn't win, and didn't expect to, as there is just one winner out of hundreds of entries. Maybe thousands, who knows? They have gotten so large....But it's good exposure for the portfolios at Saatchi!

  25. Shooting Star - This painting is intentionally monochromatic. Most of my paintings are VERY colorful, but this one was intended as a work more in values, than in color. Thanks for stopping by!

Kriz, thanks for your visit. Don't worry about it... :) I'm always overwhelmed, myself!

Oil or Acrylic? like it much! I do have paintings on my site but those currently posted there are by watercolor. I've scheduled paintings of when to be posted actually.

Anyway, i like this one so much! at first glance, i saw two people and a dog. i like how you merge images together.

    Keep it up!
