Peachy Petals - Image c Lynda Lehmann
I had the pleasure of finding these blooms on a recent walk. Some days I find only spent or wilted flowers, but this past Monday, my luck was good. I felt blessed to encounter these lush specimens at the peak of their glory! I shot with a small aperture for depth of field, because of the depth of the blossoms. Hope you enjoy them!
I'd like to dedicate them to Janice Thompson at Drinking the Moon. Janice is bedridden with a bad bout of arthritis. I'm sure she'd love to have our visits to her blog to see her lovely poetry and nature images, and that would cheer her a little when she's able to get up. I hope you feel better soon, Janice!
I'll be busy building a cabin into a house this summer, with my husband, so you'll probably see less of me here on the blogosphere. But I'll try to post and comment, although maybe less often. I couldn't resist posting these beauties today. Now why doesn't MY garden look like this?

Hmmm, along with the gorgeous sounds I'm quite sure I could also smell the heady sweet perfume of the iris. Ah lovely day!

These are simply incredible shots Lynda.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful. I wish I had been as lucky yesterday.
We were way down in south Texas and the blooms were just beautiful.
Wildflowers and bushes just screaming with color.
And the wind was blowing about 40 mph. I snapped about 50 shots.
I just got done sorting and maybe....just maybe one might be good enough to post.
I haven't had in my editor yet.
Oh I would have loved to have been strolling with you in this garden.
Congratulations on your new adventure. I am so very happy for you.
And I know that you know where you will be is a dream for any artist.
You should shoot and catalog the build.
We will all be waiting for you when ever you can post.
Many blessings my friend!!:-))))
P.S. excuse any typos we seem to be in a ditch again as opposed to the road. Well it feels like that anyway...lol!!!!
Such beautiful Irises! Love the color in the peach one. Sounds like you will be busy with your home - have fun!!
ReplyDeleteLynda:
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful presentation. As I mentioned previously, my Queen loved Orchids. The image you put up is breathtaking.
I also followed the link to your friend's site. She also has a great presentation. I especially like her background.
Have a very nice day.
I could stare at your iris photos all day! I love iris and you've captured them so brilliantly. Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage
Lana, I'll see you now and again. I won't be gone entirely!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see peonies, I guess you'll just have to move back up north!
But you have plenty of beauty also, where you are, and I know you love it there!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteHello! Sorry it often takes me this long to respond. I hope your week is starting out better than the last one shaped up to be.
It's hot as Hades here, so I envy your slide into cooler weather! I don't handle the heat very well...
Keep in touch, my friend!
evlahos, I will surely come over to build for you, if I can vaction on one of those scenic isles you've photographed! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by!
Max my dear, I will still be around, just not as much. I hope you have a great summer and continue to regale us with interesting and stimulating inquiries into the nature of things!
ReplyDeleteGlorious Hats and Jennifer, thank you!
ReplyDeleteBOB, I forget EVERYTHING, so as far as I'm concerned, you're ahead of the game.
Right now I wish I lived Canada, where it's cooler.
jyotsana, I will do the tag when I have time. Thanks for tagging me!
ReplyDeleteShinade, I'm used to writing from a deep rut, but have never done it from a ditch in South Texas! Hope your trip was good, overall. I like what you said about the bushes "screaming with color"!
ReplyDeleteI can empathize with your frustration. I hope that more than one of the shots turned out to be what you wanted it to be. So often the wind is blowing here--I could tear my hair out, waiting for a lull to shoot a flower that will be past it's peak in a day or two.
Thank you for you kind wishes. I think I'll be too busy dodging the nail gun, to be photographing, but ya never know!
Hugs to you, Jackie. xxx
Kathy, thanks! I'll still post and visit when I can! Hope you manage to get out a lot with your camera!
ReplyDelete:)
Hey, Swubird,
ReplyDeleteJanice writes great poetry to go with her images of nature. It's from the heart, and you can feel her passion for the woods and nature when you read/see them.
I'm looking forward to your next "story" based on events in your life!
I'm glad you enjoyed the flower shots! :)
Cindy, thank you! I hope all the inhabitants of Rosehaven Cottage are thriving, along with the garden! (I bet everything is blooming for you now...)
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you. Regards to Brent, and Lucy too!
thanx lynda for responding....i understand.....and its moreover something like a game...
ReplyDeleteHello Lynda,
ReplyDeleteI'm very touched by your sweet dedication. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your get-well wishes and your kind words. I am back now and much much better - no marathons yet but definitely better :) The flowers are gorgeous - that peony is absolutely divine - so are the irises for that matter. Superb photography.
Again my thanks.
I have found your blog ! ok.. Now I have to read.. But what I did first... i looked at the flowers... As you already know.. I'm a passionate of lowers and macro shots.. Yep !!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sunny pictures,
Marie-Ancolie
