Wishing You Peace
Whatever your beliefs, your culture, or your position, I wish you the best at holiday season. To my readers and blogging friends: May there be peace in your nation, peace in your home, and peace in your heart.
I love all of you and although I know I may not post much for the next three weeks, I will be thinking of you, and wishing you success and joy in all your endeavors, as well.

Earth Speaks In Many Voices
Listen closely: she is talking to you!
Life force flows in murmurs from the ground. Water gives and seeks more life, springs from unseen spaces to follow sand to sea. A great continuum. Serenity drifts on passages of life's long song.
(I tried in vain to get away from the house construction sounds, but it's been ongoing. Rather than let it disturb my mood, I listened more intently to the sounds of trickling water and screeching gulls. We will ALWAYS have our distractions to contend with, lol...)

Scenic Nature-Zen and a Study in Opposites: Spray and Stone
Dazzled by the Sparkling Stream - Image c 2008 Lynda LehmannThese girls wade into the clear, cold water pouring out of the White Mountains into Diana's Baths, a scenic and serene spot in eastern New Hampshire. I feel they must be as fascinated by the glimmer and colors of the rocks sparkling beneath the waters rippling surface, as I am. Nature welcomes them into this beautiful and pristine pool among the boulders.
Dance Over Boulders - Image c 2008 Lynda Lehmann
This boy's smile and lithe step say a lot about his sense of joy and discovery at this beautiful scenic spot on a New Hampshire river. His stance is graceful and puts him in a visual harmony with the curve and flow of the boulders.

Peacock Elegy
Of course, when you look at an abstract painting you can take whatever you want from it. The interpretation is yours to make. I think about our ailing planet a lot, and that's how this title probably surfaced in my mind. If you want to help preserve biodiversity like I do, and you know that the presence of squirrels and Blue Jays or Robins in your yard does not mean we are not losing precious species every day, why not check out the action alerts of some of the reliable environmental groups. I have some posted in the sidebar on this page. Let's all be part of the solution! This flowing abstract expressionist painting is done in acrylic in shades of blue, mauve, purple, and orange, 36 x 48 inches on gallery-wrapped canvas, with an Oriental look. It reminds me of a tapestry. Image c 2007 Lynda Lehmann. "Peacock Elegy" is available at www.LyndaLehmann.com
